What Went Well (WWW)
The video came together beautifully, balancing movement and stillness in a way that really drew viewers in. The transitions flowed smoothly, making the story easy to follow while maintaining a dynamic pace. The mix of moving and still images kept things visually interesting, and the slow-motion sequence at the end added a real emotional punch that left a lasting impression. The vibrant use of color gave the video an appealing energy, and the overall structure was tight, making the most of the one-minute duration. The sound design worked well to complement the visuals, creating an immersive experience from start to finish.
Even Better If (EBI)
There’s room for improvement, especially with a few of the images that appeared in lower resolution, which slightly detracted from the overall polish. Making sure all visuals are crisp and high-quality would make the video feel more consistent and professional. Also, the sound fade-out at the end felt a little abrupt. A smoother, more gradual fade would help round off the video and leave the audience with a more cohesive and satisfying ending that matches the emotional tone set by the visuals. Fixing these minor issues would elevate the video to the next level.
Reflect
In my opinion, the top three videos were from Layla, Olivia and Diyari. What made their videos stand out was the smooth transitions between their images, and, uniquely, they incorporated videos and images of themselves. This personal touch really made their work more engaging and visually striking, adding a layer of authenticity and interest that set their pieces apart.
importance of sound
This week has really shown me how important sound is in film and TV. It’s not just about what we see; sound completely changes how we feel and connect with the story. It sets the mood, draws out emotions, and makes the whole experience more immersive. A well-timed sound effect or the right piece of music can turn an ordinary scene into something unforgettable. I’ve realized that without good sound design, even the best visuals can fall flat. Sound truly ties everything together and makes the experience feel complete.
