1) Type up your feedback in full including the ratings out of five for each of the categories.

Research and Planning: ★★★★★ (5/5)

Extremely strong research, showing depth, organisation, and professionalism. Industry examples, marketing strategies, and detailed planning were applied effectively, making the concept feel well-developed and realistic.

Concept: ★★★★★ (5/5)

A very clear, original, and creative concept with strong branding and digital aesthetic. The use of TikTok-style visual grammar and digital culture fits the target audience and offers strong potential for coursework production.

Use of Media Language & Theory: ★★★★★ (5/5)

Excellent use of terminology such as visual identity, branding, synergy, convergence, and participation. Strong links to key theorists including Gauntlett (identity), Mulvey (gaze theory), and ideas around audience engagement.

Representation: ★★★★☆ (4/5)

Representation of the artist and audience is thoughtful and developed, but could be explored in greater detail to ensure clarity and nuance, especially regarding gender roles and identity.

Presentation Delivery: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5)

The slides were visually appealing and professional, but the delivery held the presentation back. Reliance on reading from a phone, lack of eye contact, minimal body language, and limited audience interaction reduced engagement.

2) Use this feedback, comments from peers and your own reflection on your presentation to self-assess and write your own detailed WWW and EBI for your coursework concept and presentation as a whole.

WWW (What Went Well):

My research was extremely detailed and professional, showing evidence of deep thought and planning.

I used excellent media language throughout, referencing key terms such as visual grammar, branding, synergy, convergence, and identity.

I applied theory effectively, linking my concept to Gauntlett’s identity theory, Mulvey’s male gaze, and participation/engagement in digital culture.

The PowerPoint design was visually appealing, with a consistent aesthetic and branding style that matched my concept.

I demonstrated knowledge of industry practices, marketing strategies, and audience engagement, showing strong preparation.

EBI (Even Better If):

I need to improve my delivery by rehearsing beforehand so that I rely less on reading from my phone.

Stronger body language, more emotion, and eye contact with the audience would make the presentation more engaging.

Some slides were text-heavy – more images and interactive elements would improve accessibility.

I could expand on the representation of the artist in more detail to ensure clarity of their role within the concept.

I should explain theories like Mulvey’s male gaze in greater depth so the audience understands how I’m applying them.

3) Write a paragraph discussing how your presentation will lead into your actual coursework production. Do you need to update your statement of intent? Does your concept offer enough clarity? Is it appropriate for the audience specified in the brief? Is it achievable to film with the resources you have available? Can you add media terminology or theory to your statement of intent now you have reflected on your presentation and seen others?

Reflecting on my presentation, I believe it provides a strong foundation for my actual coursework production. My concept is clear, research-driven, and visually coherent, meaning I won’t need to completely re-write my statement of intent, but I will refine it to emphasise audience engagement and representation more clearly. I will add in more direct references to media theory (Gauntlett’s identity theory, Mulvey’s gaze theory, and the role of convergence and synergy in digital marketing) to strengthen my rationale.

REMINDER: You also need to ensure that ALL your research and planning from over the summer - including your current statement of intent - is posted to your Media 2 coursework blog.
